Youth Football Lineman Camp Held
Lobo varsity linemen and Snowflake’s lineman coach, Spencer Rickersten, held a camp for youth from 3rd to 8th grade. The two day event not only helped teach kids how to be linemen, it was used to encourage and help kids understand the importance of playing line in football.
Coach Rickersten stated that his “hope is to do this every year and help instill a pride and love for the lineman position which often gets over looked by the skill positions who score touchdowns and what not.”
34 boys participated in the camp. Local businesses helped sponsor the event including Positive Solar, Dr. Chad Squire, White Mountain Physical Therapy, and Streets on Main.
Awards were giving for different age groups. Koda Johnson was best lineman for 3rd and 4th graders. Ryder Williams won the award for 5th and 6th graders and Kacyn Wingfield was the award winner for 7th and 8th graders.
Coach Rickersten and his family moved to Snowflake to teach seminary. He played offensive line collegiately at BYU.
