It is with profound sadness, that we announce the passing of our matriarch, Mary Anderson Morris Law. She passed peacefully on the morning of January 16, 2021.
Our family sends great appreciation for the outpour of love from the many people she’s touched over the years. Mother was very proud to teach three generations of students from 1954-1990 in Taylor, Woodruff, and Joseph City, AZ. She was dedicated to her students, creating lifelong memories of school plays, musicals and graduations. After leaving the classroom, Mother continued sharing her gift of piano to students of all ages. She did so until she physically no longer could.
Mary was a shining light of patriotism; she deeply loved our country and was well versed in the Constitution. Her political activism was unmatched by few, as she took time out of a busy schedule to contribute to the betterment of our nation.
Mary was a faithful member of The Church of Latter-Day Saints. She always trusted in God's plan, even when she was faced with insurmountable challenges. Whenever she spoke of the trials in her life, she always pointed out how God had blessed her and showed her the way through.
No one could give a better "heart-to-heart" hug than Mother. She was never happier than when she was around her family. She loved them dearly and found so much joy in being a part of their lives. She made each family member feel special and celebrated each milestone and achievement. She loved to play games, and she always outsmarted everyone in Hand & Foot (no matter how hard we all tried!).
Our Mother is survived by her sisters, Elverda Topliss of Snowflake, AZ and Anna Lee Smith of Snowflake, AZ (and nieces and nephews); her children, Allen (Amy) Law Jr. of Falls Church, VA, William “Bill” (Elaine) of Mesa, AZ, Deanne (Tom) Romo of Holbrook, AZ, Daughter in-law Dennise Morris (Chalmer “Dean” Morris, deceased), and Heather (Michael) Record of Apache Junction, AZ. She also leaves behind, 19 grandchildren and 31 great grandchildren (and counting).
Our Mother is welcomed into heaven by her first husband, Chalmer Dean Morris (“Chimes” passed away in 1961); her loving husband of 31 years, Allen Letchard Law Sr.; her sons, Ronald “Ronnie” Morris; Chalmer “Dean” Morris; and her parents, Elmer “Andy” and Hazel Anderson.
