Lobo Wrestlers Are Sectional Champs
First title Since 2013
The Snowflake Lobos wrestling team won the sectional championship today. The regional tournament took place in Payson. This is the first sectional championship for the Lobo scrappers in 8 years. Their championship comes on the heels of a one loss regular season. As a team, they went 13-1. The state tournament is next week.
Troy Kinlicheenie, Terell Kinlicheenie, and Ky Owens each placed first in their respected weight classes. Garrett Flake and Bryce White placed second; Rorey Owens, Brenley Wood, and Payson Cardon placed third. Braden Lewis placed 4th. Head Coach, Ken Owens, was awarded as coach of the year.
The Division 3 State Tournament will take place at Poston Butte High School in San Tan Valley. Each class will consist of 16 competitors in a double elimination bracket.
