The Snowflake boys’ soccer team is having their best season yet this year. Snowflake High School instituted the soccer program for the 1997-1998 school year. In this their 25th season, the Lobos were crowned Fall East Regional Champions. This marks the first time that the boys’ soccer team has earned a regional championship.
The 2A state championship bracket was released today and the Lobos are seeded as the number two team. This is the highest year end ranking the club has ever obtained. Earlier this season, the Lobos did reach the number one ranking before suffering back-to-back losses earlier this month.
The Lobos will host Madison Highland, a charter school from Phoenix, in the quarterfinal round of the state tourney on Tuesday, November 2.
On Wednesday evening, the Lobos hosted Round Valley, a game that they won 8 to 1. That night, the Seniors on the team were recognized. Tyler Barberich, Kyson Peck, Kyler Craner, Tate Hensley, Sam Lopez, and Talon Bryant are the five Seniors on the team.
